What 20 AI visibility vendors publish about prices, contracts, data export and proof, and the questions to ask before you pick one for your med spa.

Updated Oct 2, 2026 · 7 min read

Key points

  • 16 of the 20 AI visibility vendors we checked publish a price; 4 do not.
  • Published monthly starting prices run from $20/mo at Rankscale to $1,950/mo at Subscribe PR, and they are not charged the same way.
  • None of the 20 states a setup or onboarding fee, so ask what setup costs before you sign.
  • 11 of the 20 state month-to-month terms, and 15 publish how cancellation works.
  • No software tool here states that it supports HIPAA or offers a BAA, and HIPAA was not recorded for the three agencies, so keep patient information out of any tool you buy.

When someone asks ChatGPT or Google's AI Overviews for a med spa in your city, your practice is either in the answer or it is not. Tracking tools and agencies now sell that measurement, and some sell the fixes too. We read the websites of all 20 vendors on October 1, 2026 and recorded what each one publishes. This guide covers what the data shows and the questions worth asking before you pick one.

What does an AI visibility vendor do for a med spa?

You give the tool prompts a patient might type, such as "med spa near me" or "how long do fillers last". It runs them against AI systems like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI answers, then reports whether your practice is mentioned, how it is described and which sources are cited. The tool can also run the same prompts against competitors, so you can see who the AI names instead.

Two kinds of company sell this. Software tools run the checks and hand you a dashboard, and you do the work. Agencies bundle tracking with content, digital PR and profile work, and do it for you. Most of the 20 sell software; three are agencies: First Page Sage, Go Fish Digital and Subscribe PR.

Which vendors publish a price?

16 of the 20 do. 15 quote it in US dollars:

VendorPublished starting priceCharged by

Ahrefs$29/mo (Starter); Brand Radar AI from $199/moPlans plus add-ons
Geneo$39.9/moCredits, or pay as you go
Knowatoa$59/moPlans
LLMrefs$79/moOne plan
Gumshoe$99/mo per projectPer project
Am I On AI$100/moPackages
Trakkr$100/moPlans
SE Ranking$103.20/mo billed annually ($129/mo monthly)Plans plus add-ons
Semrush$117.33/mo billed annually ($139/mo monthly)Plans
Scrunch$250/moPrompt and response limits
Goodie$275/mo (agency Growth plan); brand plans from $399/moPlans
AthenaHQ$295/moCredits
Subscribe PR$1,950/moMonthly tier plus press add-ons

Nightwatch publishes in euros: €79/mo billed yearly or €99/mo monthly. Subscribe PR's row is an agency retainer, not a tool subscription.

Four publish no price: First Page Sage, Go Fish Digital, Peec AI and Profound. Peec AI's plan prices were not readable on the pages we checked, and Profound shows a free trial and a custom-priced Enterprise plan. A private price is not a red flag, but the comparison happens on the sales call, so get the quote in writing.

How should you compare prices?

The headline numbers are not charged the same way.

  • Per project. Gumshoe charges $99/mo per project on Starter and $299/mo on Pro.
  • Credits. Rankscale, Geneo, AthenaHQ and Local Falcon work on credits. Rankscale sells top-ups in the app. On AthenaHQ's Starter plan, extra credits and API access are paid add-ons.
  • Prompts and keywords. Peec AI prices by tracked prompts and models, Nightwatch by keyword volume, and Scrunch sets monthly prompt and response limits.
  • Retainers. Subscribe PR's Essential tier is $1,950/mo for content, backlinks and reporting. Press placements are add-ons from +$995/mo.

Check what the headline covers. Ahrefs prices Brand Radar AI separately, from $199/mo as an add-on, and extra users cost $40 to $80/mo each depending on plan. Goodie's $275/mo is its agency plan; plans for brands start at $399/mo. Annual billing changes the number too: SE Ranking is $129/mo monthly or $103.20/mo billed annually, and Semrush is $139/mo monthly or $117.33/mo billed annually.

None of the 20 states a setup or onboarding fee. Goodie includes onboarding on its Pro plan, AthenaHQ includes white-glove setup on Enterprise, and Rankscale offers a guided onboarding call on request. Ask what any of it costs.

How long will you be locked in?

13 of the 20 state a minimum term. 11 of them say you can go month to month or cancel anytime: Am I On AI, First Page Sage, Geneo, Gumshoe, Knowatoa, LLMrefs, Local Falcon, Nightwatch, Rankscale, SE Ranking and Trakkr. Rankscale also offers a 12-month subscription, and its terms say prepaid fees are non-refundable unless Rankscale is in uncured breach.

The two outside that list are worth reading. Peec AI sells monthly or 12-month subscriptions, and its terms give 12-month plans thirty days' notice. Subscribe PR states its term two ways, a three-month minimum in its home page FAQ and month to month on its services page. Ask which one applies to you.

15 of the 20 publish how cancellation works. Geneo says cancel anytime from account settings with no cancellation fee. Subscribe PR asks for 30 days' written notice. Trakkr gives new subscribers a 14-day money-back guarantee and calls later refunds discretionary. Several terms pages call fees already paid non-refundable, some with stated exceptions, among them AthenaHQ and Geneo, and SE Ranking's terms say the service is not refundable. Gumshoe's FAQ says cancel anytime while its terms say fees are non-refundable.

How do you get your data out?

Most software vendors state a path: AthenaHQ includes CSV export on Starter, Gumshoe exports CSV and JSON on every paid plan, Peec AI lists CSV exports, a Looker Studio connector and an API, and Rankscale adds a REST API from Pro+ up. Geneo, Scrunch and Semrush do not state an export path on their sites. Ask before you sign.

Ownership is a gap on the agency side: none of the three states who owns the account and the assets it creates. If content, backlinks and press placements are part of the deal, get ownership in writing.

Is anything here built for med spas?

None of the 20 sells only to med spas. Two publish something specific:

  • Subscribe PR has a med spa page for its digital PR and AI search work, and lists pitching beauty and lifestyle press on treatments, RealSelf and review platform optimization, and treatment-level AI search visibility as med spa services.
  • First Page Sage publishes a case study for an unnamed board-certified plastic surgeon in New York, for whom AI recommendation share grew from 11% to 64% across 31 key queries. It also says clinical claims are reviewed before publication.

We found no med spa page, client or industry focus for the rest, so niche knowledge has to come from your questions. On compliance, no software tool here states that it supports HIPAA compliance or offers a BAA, and HIPAA was not recorded for the three agencies. AthenaHQ says its brand monitoring does not process or store protected health information. Keep prompts on public marketing questions, and if patient information could reach a vendor through your workflow, ask for a BAA in writing.

What proof can you check before you buy?

12 of the 20 publish a case study with a stated result, and most measure brands outside healthcare, so treat them as a sign of the clients a vendor serves, not of results for a practice like yours. AthenaHQ reports Grüns growing share of voice from 2.0% to 12.6% in 60 days and names Grüns, Lago and Rootly as clients. Profound reports Ramp's AI visibility rising from 3.2% to 22.2% within a month. Subscribe PR reports 253,500 AI citations in 60 days for a client it does not name, and Rankscale's case study is an unnamed Spanish bank. Goodie names the skincare brand Dermalogica among its clients.

The direct test is free: 15 of the 20 offer a free trial, 16 offer a free demo, audit or consultation, and Gumshoe publishes a free sample audit with no credit card. Set up the prompts a patient in your city would actually ask and see what the tool reports.

What should you ask on a sales call?

  1. What is the total monthly cost for my number of locations and the prompts I need?
  2. What counts against my credits, prompts or keyword limits, and what happens when I hit the cap? Gumshoe, for example, bills conversations beyond 480 in a period at $0.10 each.
  3. Is there a setup, onboarding or data migration fee? None of the 20 states one on its site.
  4. What is the commitment, how do I cancel, and how much notice do you need? Subscribe PR states its term two ways; get yours in writing.
  5. How do I get my data out if I leave? Geneo, Scrunch and Semrush do not state a path.
  6. Who owns the account and the content you produce? None of the three agencies states it.
  7. What results have you delivered for a practice like mine, and can I speak to that client?
