How do med spa marketing agencies charge?

The agencies that publish pricing charge in four main ways.

  • Flat monthly retainer. Intellius Medical and Stranded both publish flat monthly fees and state that no part of the fee is based on ad spend. Sprout Sage Solutions sells flat monthly retainers and fixed-fee projects. More Booked Consults charges a flat monthly rate per service. Intrepy Healthcare Marketing publishes a monthly SEO retainer price.
  • Monthly subscription. PatientGain sells managed marketing as a subscription in named tiers, and individual apps such as its CRM on their own.
  • Custom quote. Medspa Market Pro builds a custom quote from a free audit, billed monthly as a 3-, 6- or 12-month Growth Sprint. Omnicore publishes a starting price per service.
  • Per work order. Plastic Surgery Studios invoices per work order, monthly or as agreed, with a deposit before work begins.

One-off project fees show up too: Sprout Sage Solutions lists landing pages from $300 and websites from $500, and Stranded lists web design at $6,000 to 10,000.

What do agencies publish as a starting price?

9 of the 26 agencies publish some pricing. 7 of them publish a monthly starting figure in dollars:

More Booked Consults$2,500/moConversion optimization or local SEO as a standalone retainer6 months for those services, 3 months for Meta ads

PatientGain's $99 figure buys one app, not its managed service. Its managed tiers are listed at $899/mo, $1,699/mo and $2,499/mo, and the same page also says pricing starts at $499/mo.

The prices do not buy the same things either. Intellius Medical's $900/mo plan is a management fee for Google Ads campaigns you already run; you pay Google directly for ad spend. More Booked Consults charges $2,500/mo for conversion optimization or local SEO alone, and $5,000/mo for both.

The other two agencies that publish pricing use other formats. Omnicore lists starting points per service: $1,500 for SEO, $2,000 for paid search or paid social, and $5,000 for web design, with the billing period not stated. Sprout Sage Solutions pairs one-time fees from $300 for a landing page with SEO retainers of $800 to $1,500/mo.

Which agencies do not publish a price?

These 17 do not publish a starting price: Aesthetic Brand Marketing, Aesthetic Conversion, Digital Limelight Media, Etna Interactive, Firm Media, Growth99, Incredible Marketing, Influx Marketing, Med Spa Magic Marketing, MedShark Digital, Med Spa Marketing, MyAdvice, Plastic Surgery Studios, Studio 3 Marketing, Surgeon's Advisor, The Med Spa Agency and Thrive Internet Marketing Agency.

A few publish pieces of the picture without a headline number. Growth99 names three plans and lists what each includes, with no price on any of them. MyAdvice states that plans are billed monthly in advance and publishes card payment fees, but no plan price. Etna Interactive and Plastic Surgery Studios disclose deposits before work begins, without amounts.

A private price is not a sign of a bad product.

What costs sit behind the monthly fee?

Setup fees and deposits. 7 of the 26 state a policy:

  • Intellius Medical and RUNNER Agency each state no setup fee. Sprout Sage Solutions states none on retainers.
  • More Booked Consults charges a $2,500 one-time fee, on managed Meta ads only.
  • PatientGain charges no setup fee with a 12-month contract, and a setup fee on month-to-month or shorter contracts, amount not published.

Ad spend. Five agencies state that ad spend is billed separately from their fee: Intellius Medical, More Booked Consults, Sprout Sage Solutions, Stranded and Thrive Internet Marketing Agency. More Booked Consults sets a $3,000/mo minimum ad spend on its managed Meta ads service. PatientGain lists the one percentage fee we found: 18% on managed Google and Meta ads on its Growth tier.

Add-ons and payment fees. Omnicore lists a Practice Pulse Dashboard add-on at $97/month and additional web pages at $150 each. MyAdvice adds a 3% service fee to credit card payments and a $50 handling fee on checks. Growth99's terms list a $35 late fee and a $100 reactivation fee, and the site lists add-ons for paid digital media, social media graphics and multi-location services.

  • No long-term contract. Seven state it outright: Incredible Marketing, Intellius Medical, Medspa Market Pro, Omnicore, Sprout Sage Solutions, Surgeon's Advisor and Thrive Internet Marketing Agency.
  • 6 months. More Booked Consults requires 6 months for conversion optimization and local SEO, and 3 months for managed Meta ads. Stranded runs 6 months, then month to month.
  • 12 months. Growth99's terms set a 1-year term that renews automatically for successive 1-year terms. PatientGain's pricing is built on a 12-month contract with no setup fee, or month to month with a setup fee. Plastic Surgery Studios sets 12 months for any product paid in monthly installments.
  • Your choice. Med Spa Marketing states month to month or annual, at the practice's election.

8 of the 26 state a month-to-month option: Incredible Marketing, Intellius Medical, Med Spa Marketing, Medspa Market Pro, Omnicore, PatientGain, Sprout Sage Solutions and Thrive Internet Marketing Agency.

9 of the 26 publish how cancellation works. Intellius Medical states no cancellation penalty. Sprout Sage Solutions asks for 30 days' written notice on retainers. More Booked Consults takes cancellation by email with 30 days' notice after the minimum term, with no cancellation fee. Growth99 requires non-renewal notice at least 60 days before the term ends and states all sales are final. MyAdvice's agreement renews automatically, needs notice 45 days before renewal, and still owes the rest of the term on early termination. Med Spa Marketing's contracts renew automatically unless it gets written notice at least 30 days before the term ends. The rest do not publish how cancellation works.

Can you try before you buy?

24 of the 26 offer a free demo or audit. Medspa Market Pro is the only one of the 26 that states a free trial. The audit is also where a custom quote comes from: Medspa Market Pro scopes its quote from the audit findings. Use it to get a total monthly cost in writing.

What should you ask before you sign?

  1. What is the total monthly cost for my practice, and what exactly does the fee include?
  2. Is ad spend included, billed separately, or charged as a percentage of spend?
  3. Is there a setup fee, deposit or onboarding fee, and is any of it refundable?
  4. What is the minimum term, does the agreement renew automatically, and how much notice does cancellation need?
  5. Which services cost extra, and what does each one cost?
  6. Who owns the ad accounts, the website and the content if we stop working together?
  7. Can you show me a result from a med spa client? 15 of the 26 publish a case study result on their sites.
