Key points

  • None of the 21 publishes a monthly starting price. The published prices are an outcome fee or a fixed-length program.
  • CT Acquisitions charges sellers nothing and is paid by the buyer, Durocher Enterprises sells coaching from $2,400 for four months, and John M. Salony charges a 6% commission on the sale.
  • 4 of the 21 state an upfront fee policy, 4 state a commitment length, and only 1 publishes anything about cancellation.
  • 14 of the 21 offer a free consultation, demo or audit.

18 of the 21 med spa business consulting vendors we checked do not publish a starting price. We read all 21 websites on October 1, 2026 and recorded what each one charges, when it charges, and what it asks you to commit to. This is a services category, so the public prices work differently from software subscriptions: the three that exist are either a fee tied to a sale or a fixed-length program.

How do med spa consultants charge?

9 of the 21 state how they charge. Their statements fall into three groups:

  • A success fee when the practice sells. Aesthetic Brokers is paid primarily on a success fee when your transaction closes. John M. Salony charges a 6% commission on the sale and describes his model as success-fee only. TUSK Practice Sales is paid by the seller on a success-fee basis and collects nothing until the transaction closes. CT Acquisitions runs the model in reverse: it is a buy-side firm, the buyer pays its success fee, and it states that sellers pay nothing.
  • A package or program. Durocher Enterprises sells business coaching as a four-month package. Shorr Solutions offers focused packages for specific needs or full-service annual consulting. The Spa Business Coach sells a fixed-length coaching program and takes private coaching clients by application.
  • Projects, ongoing advisory, or a quote per service. Skytale Group prices one-time fixed-fee projects or ongoing advisory. Diamond Accelerator says only that its cost varies based on the services provided.

The other 12 do not state how they charge. Two of them name what they sell without prices: The Spa Coach names Virtual Coaching Sessions, Financial Rescue Audit and Consulting by Project, and Will Barton Ventures names The MedSpa Audit, The Build and Fractional COO / CEO & Advisory. The remaining 10 publish no starting price, and none publishes a fee amount: Agenda Health, DermAesthetic Consulting, Illumination Consulting, Lexi Design, Maven Financial Partners, Med Spa Business Broker, MedSpa Advisor, Physician Growth Partners, Projected Growth Consulting and Viper Partners.

A private price is normal when 18 of the 21 publish no starting price. For those vendors there is no published price to check a quote against, so get it in writing.

What do consultants publish as a starting price?

3 of the 21 publish any price:

VendorPublished starting priceWhat it coversCommitment as stated
CT AcquisitionsNo fee to sellersBuyer introductions, a preliminary valuation and exit planning; the buyer pays the success fee at closingNo exclusivity contract for sellers
Durocher EnterprisesFrom $2,400Four months of business coaching: two one-hour calls per month4 months, the length of the coaching package
John M. Salony6% commission on the saleBusiness brokerage, M&A advisory, business valuation and commercial real estate advisory; paid at closingNot published

None of the three is a monthly subscription, and none of the 21 publishes a monthly starting price. That changes how you should compare them. A commission fee scales with your sale price, so the same percentage means very different amounts on a small practice and a large one. A program price buys a set block of work over a fixed number of months. Work out which of those two shapes you are buying before you compare numbers.

What costs sit behind the headline fee?

  • Upfront fees and retainers. 4 of the 21 state a policy. CT Acquisitions states it takes no retainers or success fees from owners. John M. Salony states no upfront fees or retainers. TUSK Practice Sales states it does not collect payment until the transaction closes. Aesthetic Brokers is the only one that says some engagements include a retainer or upfront fee, and it does not state the amount. The rest do not state a policy, so ask.
  • Consultation fees. Shorr Solutions states a $300 consultation fee on its consultation page, the same page that invites you to schedule a free consult. If a consultation is part of your sales process, ask whether it is free before you book it.
  • Commitment length. 4 of the 21 state one. Durocher Enterprises' coaching package runs 4 months. The Spa Business Coach's Spa Profits Accelerator program runs 6 months. CT Acquisitions states there is no exclusivity contract for sellers, and Diamond Accelerator says it does not tie clients to long-term contracts. None of the 21 publishes a month-to-month term.
  • Ending the engagement. 1 of the 21 publishes anything about cancellation. Diamond Accelerator says that if a placed candidate does not perform, you do not pay, and it does not publish the conditions. For everyone else, ask how much notice either side needs and what happens to fees already paid.
  • Who owns the deliverables. Ask who keeps the deliverables, such as the business plan, the audit or the training materials, if the engagement ends. If you are paying for a plan you will execute yourself, ask before you sign.

How do you get a real number before you commit?

14 of the 21 offer a free consultation, demo or audit, and none of the 21 states a free trial. CT Acquisitions offers a free call and a free preliminary valuation. John M. Salony's process starts with a confidential discovery call and a valuation, and TUSK Practice Sales' starts with a 60-minute call; both also state a free consultation or audit. One of the 14 needs a second look: Shorr Solutions invites you to schedule a free consult, and the same consultation page states a $300 consultation fee is required. For the rest, ask what the free session covers.

4 of the 21 publish a result for a named client, all on their own sites. DermAesthetic Consulting says Eden Health Club increased monthly revenue 116% in 90 days and lifted its consult conversion rate from 20% to 74%. Maven Financial Partners states +44% top line revenue and +14% profitability for Center Med Spa. Projected Growth Consulting carries a client testimonial reporting 255% revenue growth for The Peaceful Poppy Med Spa. Diamond Accelerator says Feelgood Fascia hired two new front desk members after its recruitment assistance. These are the vendors' own claims, not independent measurements, so ask for a reference you can call.

One more filter before you take a call: 4 of the 21 serve med spas exclusively (Diamond Accelerator, Med Spa Business Broker, MedSpa Advisor and The Spa Business Coach). The rest are not exclusive to med spas, so ask how much of their recent work looked like yours.

What should you ask before you sign?

  1. How is the fee calculated: a percentage of the sale price, a flat package, or ongoing advisory?
  2. What do I pay before closing or before the work starts, and is any of it refundable?
  3. How long am I committed, and how does either of us end the engagement early?
  4. Who owns the deliverables, such as the business plan, the audit and the training materials?
  5. What happens if the outcome the fee depends on does not happen?
  6. Can I have the full fee schedule in writing before I decide?
