Med spa owners meet this category twice: at the start, when the entity, medical director agreement and consent forms are put in place, and later, when an audit or board complaint arrives. We checked the websites of 22 compliance and legal vendors on October 1, 2026 and recorded what each publishes about price, term, cancellation and proof. Vendor profiles below link to the page each figure came from.
What do compliance and legal vendors do for a med spa?
A med spa performs medical treatment, so someone licensed has to own the medical decisions. Consents and protocols need to be in writing, staff training needs records, and patient information falls under HIPAA. Vendors here sell pieces of that job.
They fall into several groups. Law firms' published services include formation, contracts, compliance audits and employment agreements; Lengea Law lists board investigation responses. Compliance vendors' service lists include HIPAA and OSHA manuals, training, risk assessments and audits. Template sellers such as MedSpa Standards sell downloadable SOP and protocol kits. Matching services pair a practice with a medical director or collaborating physician. Telehealth providers perform good faith exams. Several do more than one.
What does one cost?
8 of the 22 vendors publish a price:
| Vendor | Published starting price | How it charges | Minimum term as stated |
|---|---|---|---|
| Qualiphy | $27.99 per consultation | Pay per consultation, no subscription | No subscription; cancel anytime |
| Med Spa Oversight | $89/mo plus $35 per good faith exam | Monthly subscription; the exam network adds a fee per good faith exam | No minimum stated; subscriptions can be cancelled at any time |
| Bryant Taylor Law | $97/mo | Flat monthly template membership; other legal work not priced | Not published |
| MedSpa Standards | $97 per SOP | One-time purchase per protocol, kit or suite | No contract; one-time purchase |
| Spakinect | $99/mo plus per patient evaluations | Monthly membership, plus a fee per evaluation | Not published |
| Lengea Law | $399/mo, billed annually | Annual membership with prepaid legal hours | 12 months |
| Medical Director Co. | $799/mo | Monthly fee, month to month | No long-term contract |
| Edmonds Law Office | $10,000 one-time (Practice Launch Package) | Flat fees; project-based and subscription models | Not published |
These prices are not like for like: a per-exam fee scales with patient volume, so identical memberships can mean different totals. Lengea Law's $399/mo is billed annually, which works out to $4,788 a year committed in advance. A one-time purchase, such as MedSpa Standards' $97 per SOP, carries no contract.
Also published: Med Spa Oversight's Full Medical Oversight plan runs $599 to $899/month; Edmonds Law Office lists a 12-month general counsel package at $50,000 flat fee, or 4 payments of $12.5k; Lengea Law lists three memberships at $399, $499 and $999 a month, with $5,000+ to $12,000 in prepaid legal hours.
The other 14 do not publish a price: Aesthetic Compliance Experts, ByrdAdatto, Collaborating Docs, Compliancy Group, Concierge Healthcare Attorneys, GuardianMD, Healthcare Compliance Pros, Jackson LLP Healthcare Lawyers, LDG, PLLC, Maureen West & Associates, MedSpa Advisor, Moxie, Texas Med Spa Consulting and Directorship and Weitz Morgan.
Some of the 14 state a charging model: ByrdAdatto charges a customized fixed monthly fee with no hourly billing, GuardianMD bills a flat monthly subscription on a rolling calendar month, Jackson LLP uses flat fees for many projects and hourly billing in 6-minute increments for open-ended work, and LDG, PLLC requires a retainer before work starts.
What costs sit behind the headline price?
- Setup, onboarding and retainers. 6 of the 22 state a policy. Lengea Law lists a $499 one-time initiation fee. GuardianMD, Medical Director Co. and Qualiphy state there is none. Collaborating Docs states an initial onboarding fee, amount not listed. LDG, PLLC requires a retainer before work starts, amount not listed.
- Usage beyond the base. Spakinect adds per patient evaluation fees on top of the membership. Med Spa Oversight's $35 per good faith exam applies to its Good Faith Exam Clearance Network; the Full Medical Oversight plan includes nurse practitioner led good faith exams and does not list a per-exam fee. Lengea Law bills hours beyond the prepaid block hourly at a membership discount, and lists a paid consultation of up to one hour at $800. Qualiphy charges medication, labs and other tangible costs separately.
- Scope on legal work. Jackson LLP bills tasks outside a flat-fee scope hourly or as a new flat-fee project. ByrdAdatto states fixed rates with no discounts, paid by automated payments rather than credit card or check.
Price your expected volume: exams per month, legal hours per quarter, and what falls outside the base fee.
How long is the contract?
5 of the 22 state a minimum term. Lengea Law states 12 months. Medical Director Co. states no long-term contract. Med Spa Oversight states no minimum; subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. MedSpa Standards sells one-time purchases with no contract. Qualiphy has no subscription.
3 of the 22 state month-to-month terms: Med Spa Oversight, Medical Director Co. and Qualiphy.
The other 17 do not state a minimum term. That is not a promise of month-to-month; ask how long the first term runs and how it renews.
What happens when you cancel?
9 of the 22 publish how cancellation works, and the details differ:
- Lengea Law says memberships are non-refundable.
- GuardianMD requires notice 10 days before the billing date and says all fees are non-refundable.
- Med Spa Oversight allows cancellation at any time; the current billing period is not refunded.
- Medical Director Co. states no termination fees.
- MedSpa Standards offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all purchases.
- Collaborating Docs guarantees a match within 14 days or money back.
- ByrdAdatto states no termination fee for cancelling before the end of the term.
- Compliancy Group allows either party to terminate if a material breach is not cured within 60 days of written notice.
- LDG, PLLC states that if representation is terminated the client gets written notice and may owe unpaid fees.
The rest do not publish cancellation terms; some state no-contract terms elsewhere, so ask how it works.
Who owns the documents and records?
Ownership of what an engagement produces is not something we recorded for these vendors. That covers medical director agreements, consent suites, SOPs, chart audit findings and patient clearance records. Med Spa Oversight lists secure storage of exam documentation in its exam network plan; ask what happens to those records if you cancel. MedSpa Standards' terms grant a license to use its documents in the buyer's own practice; its site does not state who owns them.
Ask in writing: who owns the work product, how you receive it when you leave, and what it costs.
Is it built for med spas, and licensed where you operate?
7 of the 22 sell only to med spas and aesthetics: Aesthetic Compliance Experts, Bryant Taylor Law, Med Spa Oversight, MedSpa Advisor, MedSpa Standards, Moxie and Texas Med Spa Consulting and Directorship. The other 15 do not state that they serve med spas only.
For legal advice and medical oversight, state lines matter. Coverage, as published: Compliancy Group, Collaborating Docs, Concierge Healthcare Attorneys, MedSpa Standards and ByrdAdatto cover the United States. Edmonds Law Office covers Georgia and New York. LDG, PLLC and Texas Med Spa Consulting and Directorship cover Texas. Maureen West & Associates covers Colorado. Jackson LLP lists Illinois, California, Texas, New York and Wisconsin, plus companies operating nationally or in multiple states. Lengea Law says its attorneys are licensed in more than 25 states. GuardianMD and Medical Director Co. state all 50 states. Qualiphy covers 48 states and Washington D.C.; not available in Alabama or Mississippi. Spakinect covers the United States; provider hours vary for some states. MedSpa Advisor states worldwide coverage. Weitz Morgan says it serves clients in the U.S. and abroad. Bryant Taylor Law offers its membership nationwide, while its audit refers to Florida regulations.
Ask which state's rules any audit, template or agreement is written for.
What proof do vendors publish?
2 of the 22 publish a case study with a number. GuardianMD's names Hydrate IV Bar at 26 operating locations across five states. Moxie's Ananda Fidani customer story reports scaling to $1M annual revenue. These are the vendors' own claims. We have not used these services and cannot check the numbers.
Others name clients: ByrdAdatto lists VIO Med Spa and Skin Body Soul MedSpa, and Moxie names Paradise Medspa, Blonde Girl Aesthetics, Etoile Aesthetics and Churchwell Aesthetics.
17 of the 22 offer a free consultation, demo or audit. Bryant Taylor Law, LDG, PLLC, MedSpa Standards, Spakinect and Weitz Morgan do not state one. Compliancy Group is the only vendor that states a free trial.
On HIPAA: Moxie says it is HIPAA attested, and Med Spa Oversight lists a HIPAA compliant EMR in its Full Medical Oversight plan. These services can handle patient information, so ask about a business associate agreement.
What should you ask on a sales call?
- Is this legal advice from an attorney licensed in my state, or consulting, templates or software? Who is accountable if something is missed?
- What is the total monthly cost for my providers, locations and exam volume?
- Is there a setup, onboarding or retainer fee, and how much?
- What costs extra: hours beyond a prepaid block, exams beyond the plan, medication and labs?
- How long is the first term, how does it renew, and how much notice does cancellation need?
- What is refunded if the engagement does not work out?
- Who owns the agreements, protocols, audit findings and patient records, and how do I get them if I leave?
- Which states are your attorneys, physicians or nurses licensed in, and who would serve my practice?
- Can I speak with a med spa customer of a similar size?

They sell different jobs. Across the category's published service lists you will find formation, contracts, compliance audits, HIPAA and OSHA manuals, training, risk assessments, written protocol templates, medical director matching and good faith exams. Can I cancel a med spa legal or compliance service at any time?
