The short version
ShapeScale for Business sells a 3D body scanner with cloud tracking, leased at $199/mo or bought for $9,990. FaceTouchUp is cloud software that simulates facial and body procedures on patient photos, with a simulator widget for the practice website. ShapeScale publishes its prices, setup fee, deposit and lease term; FaceTouchUp publishes no price and says the monthly cost is set on a demo call.
Pricing
ShapeScale publishes two options. The lease is $199/mo, billed annually at $2,388, and includes unlimited cloud storage, scan processing for up to 100 monthly active users and unlimited warranty. The purchase is $9,990 one time and includes cloud service for up to 250 monthly active users for the life of the device and a 2-year limited warranty. Financing is published from $339/mo on the purchase. Both options carry a $199 one-time delivery and setup fee, and a lease adds a refundable $400 security deposit.
FaceTouchUp publishes no starting price and no plans. Its site says the price depends on practice size and use case and is given on a demo call. What it does publish about cost: one plan with unlimited simulations, no per-patient fees, no per-device fees, no onboarding fees and no add-on costs.
Contract and cancellation
ShapeScale gives 45 days on either option; a return inside the trial is refunded less the $199 setup fee. After the trial a lease becomes a 12-month commitment, with the customer responsible for the full annual fee for the remainder of the term on early termination. A purchased device cannot be returned after the trial.
FaceTouchUp says it is month to month, with no contracts, and that you can cancel anytime with no penalties or cancellation fees. Its site does not state how you get your photos out when you leave, so ask both about that before you sign.
Built for med spas
FaceTouchUp sells to plastic surgery only: its site describes an AI-powered simulator used by surgeons at over 500 practices worldwide, and its pricing page counts 500+ surgeons and 30+ countries. It covers rhinoplasty, facelift, chin, lip and neck procedures, skin smoothing, body contouring and liposuction. Its features include unlimited patient simulations and unlimited cloud photo storage. It names four practices on its site, including Align Facial Plastics, and says most practices are up and running within minutes of signing up.
ShapeScale also sells to gyms, wellness centers and healthcare facilities, and its medical spa page presents 3D visual tracking for before and afters and localized body composition analysis for consultations. It names Hydro Body Sculpt, The Yard and O2 Body Fit there. Orders ship within 3-5 business days when in stock, and an account manager helps with placement. Its published support hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time on business days; FaceTouchUp lists phone, email, WhatsApp and text message support and does not publish hours. Neither site states an integration with practice management software.
Which one to look at first
Look at ShapeScale first if you want a 3D body scanner for body contouring or weight management consults, with prices, deposit and return terms published.
Look at FaceTouchUp first if you want photo simulation on equipment you already own, no hardware or setup fee, and a month-to-month term you can leave anytime. Its price comes on a demo call.
Both publish a free trial and a demo, so you can try each. Ask both how photos or scans leave if you cancel, what HIPAA paperwork they sign, and whether they connect to your practice software. See every option in photography and imaging.
Scores count what each vendor publishes, not how well it performs. How we score.
